Espresso Hand Tampers
An integral tool of every barista is a tamper or press (coffee rammer). When making espresso, squeezing the coffee in the lever is really important. The coffee should be properly compressed with a force of 20 kg. If you don't know what such power looks like, all you have to do is place a home scale on the kitchen table and lean on it with a tamper in hand. You can easily test the necessary strength. If you press the coffee with less force, the espresso will flow out too fast and vice versa, if you press the coffee with more force, the espresso will flow out too slowly.
